Elite Garage and Awning Specialists – Installation-Only Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Service

​

Elite Garage and Awning Specialists (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides Installations and installation-only services for awning and Outdoor Living products supplied by their suppliers. These terms apply strictly where Elite is contracted for installation and not responsible for the supply of the unit.

2. Site Readiness & Aborted Call Charge

​

It is the homeowner's responsibility to ensure the installation site is fully prepared and accessible on the agreed installation date. This includes:

• Clear and unobstructed access to the mounting area

• No active construction or obstacles that may delay installation

• A power supply readily available for tools and equipment

 

If the site is not ready or unsuitable for installation on arrival, an aborted call fee of £180 + VAT will be charged.

3. Structural Suitability Assumption

​

By agreeing to the installation, the homeowner confirms that:

• The structure (e.g. wall, soffit, or fascia) has been inspected and is suitable for supporting the awning

• Any necessary structural reinforcements or remedial work have already been completed

 

Elite Garage and Awning Specialists does not conduct structural assessments and accepts no liability for failures due to inadequate mounting surfaces.

 

4. Mounting Brackets & Fixings

​

If additional brackets, plates, or specialist fixings are required due to the condition or nature of the mounting surface:

• The cost of these items is the responsibility of the homeowner

• Elite can source and supply appropriate brackets or fixings upon request

• All associated costs will be clearly communicated and invoiced prior to or during installation

 

5. Warranties

​

• Elite Garage and Awning Specialists provides a 1-year labour warranty on installation workmanship

• Product warranties (including motors, fabrics, arms, and remotes) remain with the manufacturer and must be handled directly with them

 

The labour warranty excludes:

​

• Damage from misuse or accidents

• Failures related to insufficient structural integrity

• Weather-related damage beyond the manufacturer’s guidelines (e.g. wind exposure)

 

6. Limitations of Liability

 

Elite Garage and Awning Specialists is not liable for:

• Structural damage or failure due to existing site issues

• Delays from third-party suppliers, adverse weather, or access restrictions

• Faults or defects originating from the product supplier

 

7. Payment Terms

 

Unless agreed otherwise in writing:

• Full payment for the installation is due at the time of booking

• Any additional materials (e.g. mounting brackets) will be invoiced separately if not pre-agreed

 

8. Cancellation

 

To avoid charges, all cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled date. Late notice may result in the aborted call fee of £180 + VAT, as detailed in Clause 2.

 

9. Asbestos Disclaimer

 

By agreeing to installation, the homeowner confirms there are no known asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in the work area.

 

Elite Garage and Awning Specialists does not perform asbestos testing. If, during installation, materials suspected to contain asbestos are encountered:

• Work will be immediately paused

• The homeowner must engage a licensed asbestos contractor to investigate

 

If asbestos is confirmed:

• Installation will be aborted

• The aborted call fee of £180 + VAT will apply

 

Work will only resume once a certified specialist confirms the area is safe and written proof is provided.

 

Elite accepts no responsibility for delays or additional costs due to asbestos-related issues.
